How to Store Microgreens for Maximum Freshness
Share
Microgreens are delicate—but with the right storage method, you can enjoy their freshness for up to 10 days or more.
Here’s how to keep them crisp and vibrant:
✅ Do This:
-
Keep them in the fridge: Store your microgreens in the original container if it’s vented and breathable.
-
Add a paper towel: If you transfer them, line the container with a dry paper towel to absorb moisture and prevent wilting.
-
Avoid washing until use: Moisture shortens their shelf life. Rinse just before eating, not before storing.
❌ Avoid This:
-
Don’t seal them in an airtight container—they need airflow.
-
Don’t store near ethylene-producing fruits like bananas or apples (they speed up spoilage).
-
Don’t freeze them—microgreens don’t recover from frost!
